广东人一年四季皆喜饮糖水，尤以夏季为甚。他们认为糖水有清润消暑、生津益身的作用，所以才有许多人不顾糖尿病的威胁，对糖水始终痴情不改。
　　 不过，如果你只从字面上理解，糖水不过就是白开水加白糖的话，那就错了。因为广东人把那些煲制了一些药材、豆类、水果、面制品，再调以白糖的食品，泛称为糖水。
　　 广东糖水的范围十分广泛，
